How to get here
Nosy Be international airport is within 1 hour of Shambala, and we can arrange a charming welcome and transfer, or collect you with our boat directly. Typically, the journey involves a 20 minute drive (a little longer if opting for tuktuk), then a 30 minute boat directly to Doany Beach, where the house awaits.
Nosy Be airport receives flights from Europe, across Madagascar and other African countries.
On the mainland, we are ~1 hour down the “road” from Ambanja, a transport hub with roads connected to the capital (Antananarivo) and Diego.
Drinking water situ?
Drinking water is filtered via a charcoal Berkley® filter to avoid transport and plastic debris created by bottled water, though this and fizzy water is available upon request.
What’s on the menu
Our chef specialises in vegetarian cooking, and of course local fresh fish. We accommodate to preferences and dietary requirements, and prepare food with love for our guests.
The menu celebrates the incredible health food that grows locally, such as the moringa and fruit, and can thereby vary upon on seasonality.
Money
Our local ATM’s are available in Nosy Be and Ambanja, dispersing the Malagasy currency Ariary (MGA). Be aware that francs are sometimes still used to describe price, and hold 5x less value than Ariary.
Flexibility
Shambala offers bespoke experiences, with personal service. You are welcome to rent the house with or without excursions and activities, and vice versa. Get in touch with your vision, and we can see how to accommodate
We do request a deposit to reserve availability.
